HomeFood: the meal planner I built (and use)
I built HomeFood because I wanted a simple Romanian meal planner on my phone — not another spreadsheet, and not an app that hides the useful bits behind a paywall. It is free: create an account and use it.
You open it at gym.adrian-bogdan.com. The product name you see is HomeFood. I use it myself for the week plan and the shopping list.
How it works
First run walks you through onboarding: which stores you shop at, body and goals, and food preferences. From that, you get a weekly meal plan in grams plus a shopping list. Day to day you open the plan, tick off what you cooked, and update the list as you buy things.
What you can do in the app
- Week meal plan with portions in grams
- Shopping list (including a shared list for the household)
- Calories, including barcode lookup when you need it
- Health basics: weight, movement, water
- Recipe feed — save recipes or put one on a day in the plan
- Install as an app on your phone home screen
Add it to your phone
On iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
On Android, open it in Chrome, use the browser menu, and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
A short way to start
- Open gym.adrian-bogdan.com and create an account.
- Finish onboarding (stores, goals, preferences).
- Check the week plan and shopping list, then adjust what you will actually cook.
- Optionally install it to the home screen so it sits next to your other apps.
